About the NTF

"Our objective is to represent and protect trainers interests and to be
a reliable and respected source of information, advice and support."

We aim to achieve this by:

  • Liaising and negotiating with other industry bodies and relevant national agencies and organisations
  • Providing up to date information to members about any matters affecting their business
  • Offering access to a wide range of professional advisers including in-house legal advice


REPRESENTATION
Representation is achieved through membership of committees and working groups throughout the racing industry, liaison with other associations and industry organisations and consultation with national agencies including government departments.



INFORMATION
In addition to this web site, the NTF publishes newsletters, guidelines, advice sheets and other materials to keep trainers informed of the latest information, which affects their training and business operations.



SERVICES
As well as providing instant advice on all key areas within the sport, the NTF employs and in-house Legal Executive to advise on all aspects of employment law and contractual disputes.

In addition, the NTF retains professional advisers on accountancy, insurance, veterinary matters, property (including commercial rates) and work permits for foreign staff.



LEGAL STATUS
The National Trainers Federation is an organisation for members being racehorse trainers holding current licenses issued by the British Horseracing Authority.

It is an employers association regulated under Part II of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, VAT registration number: 234 4897 40


NTF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION STATEMENT
Diversity and inclusion is more than just a policy or ticking boxes, it is about having diverse representation and inclusive contributions from different people that are valued and integrated.

The NTF is a signatory to the Racing Industry Diversity and Inclusion Commitment and is committed to:

  • Working with British racing's organisations signed up to the sports commitment.
  • Has Identified a member of the NTF executive to champion diversity and inclusion and will support that individual in their D&I work.
  • Achieving and maintaining a minimum of 30% of each gender on the NTF Council.
  • Achieving and maintaining geographical and business size inclusiveness on the NTF Council.
  • Encouraging inclusiveness in the Council and its decision making process.
  • Encouraging the NTF executive and Council to undertake learning and development on diversity and inclusion.
  • Sharing best practice and celebrate diversity and inclusion across the industry.
  • Working to spread the message that British Racing is for everyone.
