Memorandum of Agreement effective 1st April 2025

Following negotiations with NARS, the terms of the memorandum of agreement from 1st April 2025 have been agreed.
 
Key points:
 

  • Percentage minimum pay increases – 3.3% increases for Scales 5 and 6 without accommodation, 6.6% for Scale 4 without accommodation, driven by National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates

  • Percentage minimum pay increases – other Scales in line with NMW

  • Time away – increase of 6.73% to £12.21 per hour, again in line with changes to the NMW

 
With such significant and sustained increases to the NMW, it has not been possible to maintain the relative values of pay Scales at their previous levels.  This now means that the only pay Scales that are maintained at a higher that NMW level are those that apply to Scale 4, 5 or 6 staff without accommodation.  All other scales have now been reached or overtaken by NMW, including any Scale that features accommodation.

In addition to the above, the NTF has agreed to support an application to the Racing Foundation to better understand the actual value of accommodation being provided to staff.
